No Purpose Thwarted

Blessings of a godly and gracious perspective this week.  Prayer requests?

Job 42:1, “Then Job answered the Lord and said, “I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.”

In chapters 38-42 of the Old Testament book of Job, the Lord God responded to the struggles of the man named, Job, through a series of statements and rhetorical questions.  These reinforced the reality of the Lord’s presence, power and purpose not only in the world but in Job’s life as well.

Job needed the reconciliation and restoration that could only come through the realization of the Lord’s absolute superiority.  Otherwise, Job might be tempted to measure life based on his own authority which was myopic, minuscule and miserable at best.  As is ours.

Right now, do you realize God not only accomplishes some things but all things according to His purpose?  Do you recognize that His purpose will never be diminished, detoured or defeated?  Finally, does your life reflect your own set of rules and resolve or does it radiate God’s supreme Reasoning and Reign?

Remember, no matter the election result later this week, no purpose of God’s will be thwarted.  Ever.
