Ever wonder why all the turmoil in the Middle East? Why can’t we all get along? Consider the Biblical origin:
The Lord appeared to Abraham and said, “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant to be your God to you and to your descendants after you.” Genesis 17:7
Abraham fathered Ishmael with the servant Hagar (Genesis 16 and Ishmael became the father of Arab nations) but in Genesis 17:19 God said, “Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac, and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him (Jewish nation of Israel).”
Trauma and drama commenced at that point and continued up to and including these latest attacks. Does it mean the end times perch expectantly around the corner? Maybe. Think about these words from the New Testament:
Acts 1:6-7 (The disciples asked Jesus) “Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”
Ultimately, none of us know specifics but we do know generalities. For unbelievers, please consider these words from Jesus. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Decision time for you?
For believers – “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 Comfort time for you.
What do we do? Confidently seek Christ Jesus the Lord and compassionately live His love daily.
