Mid-east Violence … So, What’s New?

The Israeli-Palestinian week-old violence drew in the world’s top diplomats on Tuesday.  President Obama sent his secretary of state to the region on an emergency mission and the U.N. chief appealed from Cairo for an immediate cease-fire.

Mid-east violence is not new.  The Old Testament outlines numerous battles between warring tribes including the national of Israel, or as they’re referred to in the Bible, the Israelites.  And, while this may cause fretting about the future for some, the faithful believer knows the final outcome.

Jesus Christ said to his disciples – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

Belief in Jesus ushers one to eternity’s sure and solid shore of salvation.  While personal peace comes, world peace waits for the perfect timing of the Holy Word of God, Jesus, the only one worthy.

“Then Jesus came to them (the disciples) and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28:18

Rest assured God still cares and controls, even to the end of time, no matter what happens today, tomorrow or next week in the Middle East.
