Fear in the New Year?

Does talk of fiscal cliff, congressional compromise, tax increases or billions of dollars in deficit dampen your outlook for 2013?  Maybe you feel completely overwhelmed?  Even hopeless?  Me, too, when my focus goes fuzzy and only features fear.

“I sought the Lord and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4

“He (God) only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.” Psalm 62:6

Right now, why not write down any and all fears that grip your heart and crush your well-being?  Then, pray and tell God.  He has a way of altering attitude even if the situation stays the same.  Although, never underestimate the power of the Rock of Salvation to bring about actual change.  Quench the fires of fear only through God.
