Bible Thought Blessings – Genesis 1:4, 7, 14; Romans 12:1

Blessings of personal holiness this week!   Prayer requests?

Genesis 1:4, 7, 14 “… God separated the light from the darkness …” “God made the expanse and separated the waters …” “… Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night …” Romans 12:1, “… present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to God …”

In the Genesis account God created order out of chaos through separation, a theme that continues throughout the Bible.  He set apart one entity from another in order to accomplish His will; thereby, fine tuning His creation.  In the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans believers are also called to be set apart or holy in accordance with God’s will.

Unlike the natural world you and I have choices.  What seeks to sever you from God?  A self-serving mind-set?  Sinister images?  Spiteful words?  Sullen apathy?  Disastrous deeds?  Destructive resentment?

Will you choose God’s holiness in order to do His will?  Will you choose self-sacrifice for the good of others … for the good of God?

Be separate.  Be holy.
