Bible Thought Blessings – The Chandelier – 1 Peter 3:18, 1 Corinthians 6:20

Blessings of God’s free gift!  Prayer requests?

1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God …” 1 Corinthians 6:20, “For you have been bought with a price …”

When we added a house to the ranch a few years back we couldn’t decide on the appropriate light for the front area.  Three years later we finally found the right chandelier and called the original electrician.  “Could you come back for one more installation?”  We pleaded.

He readily agreed, the date was set and he showed up on time eager to help.  After he completed a beautiful job, we pulled out the checkbook and to our amazement he said, “No charge.”

What?!  He explained that the installation of an entryway fixture was included in his original estimate which we paid in full at the time.  Since he did not hang it then there is no charge now.

Isn’t that like Jesus? We expect to pay a price or work our way to God but Jesus says, “No charge.”  His work was completed on the cross a long time ago.  No matter how many times you and I blow it, we’re still covered under the original agreement and the fee stays the same, “Free.”  And, the marvelous grace-filled results remain intact; eternity with God through the Lord Jesus Christ!

Receive His free gift.  No charge!
