Bible Blessings – The Original – Hebrews 9:24

Blessings of discerning God’s Truth all day every day! Prayer requests?

Hebrews 9:24, “For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.” (Italics mine)

For the past couple of days I’ve attempted to reproduce invitations to a Christmas luncheon for a group at church. I selected festive holiday computer paper from the local office supply store, composed a poem to include the details and picked an elegant font in which to print. What should have been a twenty-minute printing job turned into at least five hours of frustration.

First, I failed to place the paper properly in the printer so the title appeared at the bottom. Then, the paper jammed. After clearing, the connection from the computer to the printer stopped. So I placed a plain paper copy on the scanner and attempted to run copies bypassing the computer’s print option. While the copier printed on plain paper it jammed when I tried to print on my gold flecked green holly and berry bordered paper.

No matter how hard humans try to reproduce the goodness and glory of God through man-made things it ultimately fails. We end up bypassing God’s truth only to settle for man’s manufactured meanings, musings, and methods. What was right is considered wrong. What was a moral priority is scuttled. We get jammed up with social tolerance and political correctness and reject God’s beauty and order.

Humans never reach eternity’s pinnacle when they accept mere ‘copies of the true things.’ The Lord Jesus Christ is the True ‘true thing’ and any copy falls flat. Which will you choose today?
