Job 26:10, “He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters at the boundary of light and darkness.”
Periodically past trauma rears its ugly head and one must deal with destructive memories once again. But God stands strong and He shows the way to cross the boundary from darkness back into His light enabling and strengthening His children.
With God’s help we do not need to cross back over or allow the darkness to creep back in any longer. Believers are out of the darkness and must daily acknowledge this, even though its pull is strong. I think of the old movie “Ghost” when evil people died they were dragged down by black shadows into the darkness. The darkness is powerful but God is more powerful. The darkness also pulls at us before physical death and the pull seems strong with thoughts of self-loathing and self-destruction; the place where depression, fear, frustration, and hurt flourish.
But aren’t those simply a part of Satan’s plan to destroy God’s children? After all, he is the deceiver and father of lies.
“No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light,” 2 Corinthians 11:14.
“Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies,” John 8:44b.
But believers have hope!
“God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all,” 1 John 1:5. Amen!
God separates His light in me from the darkness of evil and I am no longer bound by another’s darkness even if just through memories and emotions.
